Why Join the League of Women Voters?

Established in 1920, the League is a highly respected citizens’ organization that researches issues from many points of view and takes action on issues affecting our families and communities. Our members are men and women who want to make a difference.

  • The League is nonpartisan; we do not support or oppose candidates.
  • The League does take a stand on critical issues.
  • The League mobilizes people to vote and to take action.

Have you dreamed of using your experience to:

  • Connect with your community in new ways?
  • Learn about the latest issues and discover new talents?
  • Shape the policy decisions that affect your life?
  • Empower yourself, your friends and neighbors to create stronger communities?

Then join the League of Women Voters – a respected group that acts on important issues . . . issues affecting you, your family and your community . . . issues on which you can make a difference.

As an added benefit, all League members receive the national and state Voter and other publications, the League’s monthly electronic newsletter, access to member information on League websites and alerts on breaking legislative action.

Each member participates in the League as individual time permits. There is definitely a place for everyone and every lifestyle. Click here to read our Diversity Policy.

Membership in the League of Women Voters is open to everyone. U.S. citizens of voting age may join as voting members. Those under age 18 and non-citizens may join as associate members.
