  Voting Information

What about enrolling in a political party?

At the time you register, you can choose to enroll in a political party or you can choose to be unenrolled, that is, not signed up in any party. However, when you go to vote in a primary election, you must choose the ballot of the party in which you are enrolled, or if you are unenrolled, you can choose the primary ballot of any party. Unenrolled voters who vote in a state primary election remain unenrolled.

At this time, there are two official parties in Massachusetts. These are the Democrat and Republican parties.
