WASHINGTON WORKSHOPS FOUNDATION

 

Mission/Purpose: The Washington Workshops Foundation is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan educational foundation dedicated to getting young people involved in the political process.

Programs/Activities: High School Seminars are one-week experiential leadership seminars topical to the federal government. Seminars invite students to investigate the Congress, Supreme Court, and Executive agencies by meeting with members of Congress, other government officials, and professors. Students also visit Washington’s historical and memorial highlights.

Seminars include:

        U.S. Congressional Seminar

        Diplomacy and Global Affairs Seminar

        Washington Internship Experience

        Model Congress

Participants: High school students.

Getting Involved: To complete an online application or download an application form, visit the Washington Workshops website.

Fees: The Congressional Seminar tuition is $1,195. The three-week Washington Internship Experience costs $3,250, which covers the application fee, accommodations, transportation during the workshop, breakfast and dinner each day and liability and accident insurance. A financial aid suggestion booklet to help students get support from local businesses, school or civic organizations is included with each acceptance letter.
