INTERFAITH ACTION'S YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM 

Mission/Purposes: The Youth Leadership Program strives to nurture interfaith understanding, while reducing prejudice and misunderstanding. 

Programs/Activities: Interfaith Action’s Youth Leadership Program brings together Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Unitarian, and Wiccan high school students.   

The program strives:

·   To increase self awareness of individual values and beliefs.
·   To learn about other religious traditions, beliefs, rituals and practices.
·  
To build friendships that cross religious, racial and ethnic groups.
·  
To gain skills to speak out against stereotyping, hatred and bigotry.
·  
To take leadership and engage in community service by facilitating anti-bias workshops and interfaith dialogue in our town.

Members of Interfaith Action have:

·   Bi-weekly meetings (including, values clarification, faith learning, discussions about stereotypes, facilitation training for community action).
·  
Twelve hours leadership and facilitation training.
·  
Co-facilitating workshops (examples include: town wide interfaith dialogue; anti-bias workshop at local houses of worship).
·  
Monthly planning meetings. 

Participants: High school student who live, go to school and/or worship in Sharon, MA.
