CONGRESSIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

 

Mission/Purpose: The Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC) seeks to inspire young people to achieve their full leadership potential.

Programs/Activities:

        National Young Leaders Conference offers students the opportunity to discuss current issues with top policy makers in Washington, D.C., as well as analyze concepts and put them to work.

        Junior National Young Leaders Conference helps students develop and sharpen their leadership skills and empowers them to make a positive social impact in their community and the world.

        Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC) brings together students from around the world to build leadership skills. GYLC offers students the opportunity to exchange ideas with some of the world’s business leaders, policy officials, lobbyists, journalists, diplomats and academics in Washington, D.C., New York City, Vienna, Budapest and Prague.

        National Young Leaders State Conference is geared toward eighth- and ninth-grade students, challenging them to grasp the concepts of leadership and to act upon their dreams of making a difference in their communities.

Participants: Middle school and high school students.

Fees: Tuition for the National Young Leaders Conference is $1,335 for the six-day conference. Limited scholarships are available. Visit the CYLC website for more information.
