BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA

Mission/Purpose: The Boys and Girls Clubs of America seek to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Programs/Activities: The Boys and Girls Clubs of America offer a variety of character and leadership programs for young people. Helping youth become responsible caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community and celebrating our national heritage.

Keystone and Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership-development clubs. Participants elect officers, choose their own activities and plan and implement community service projects.

Participants: Keystone Clubs: youth ages 14-18. Torch Clubs: youth ages 11-13.

Getting Involved: Contact your local Boys and Girls Club to find out which programs they offer. To locate the club nearest you, visit www.bgca.org/clubs or call 800-854-2582.
