About the Making Democracy Award Event

Featured Speaker,

Dr. Carol R. Johnson, Superintendent of Boston Public Schools

Everyone is invited to an awards event on Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2009, in Faneuil Hall, Boston to announce the winners and to award prizes. Winners will read their essays from the podium of historic Faneuil Hall.

Those receiving Honorable Mention will receive certificates and recognition at the awards ceremony at Faneuil Hall. The Educational Grants will be awarded to the teachers.

The event is free and open to the public. All students, parents, family, friends, teachers, administrators, and others are invited to attend. There will be special speakers, government officials, legislators, League members and others who contribute to the process of democracy in our state.
